Monk Game Rule Information
Monks have the following game statistics:
Abilities: Wisdom powers the monk’s special offensive and defensive capabilities. Dexterity provides the unarmored monk with a better defense and with bonuses to some class skills.
New Update The above should read Dexterity instead of Wisdom. However, since there is already monks built with the previous rule, they may now choose Dexterity or Wisdom to apply.
Alignment: Any lawful.
Hit Die: d8.
To Hit/Damage: Monks do not gain to hit or damage bonus from high strength. Instead, a monk’s wisdom or dexterity bonus (if any) is used. See ki.
Initiative: Monks gain +4 to combat initiative rolls to represent their quick reactions.
Skills/NWP’s: Monks can assign nonweapon proficiencies from the same groups as Paladins. Due to the rigorous mental and physical training regimen a monk can learn most wisdom and dexterity based non-weapon proficiencies with a cost of only 1 proficiency slot. This includes Blind Fighting.
Experience: Monks will use the same XP level progression as a paladin.
